  • A new wader atlas (An atlas of Wader Populations in Africa and Western Eurasia) was launched in London on 21 May 2009. Published by Wetlands International this is the first comprehensive overview of key site networks for waders in Europe, West-Asia and Africa. Experts warn that wader populations are declining and better protection of wetlands across their flyways are needed, especially in Africa and the Middle east.
